Taking the Instrumentation & Control NCII specialization will equip the students with the skills to:

  • Read/interpret various instrumentation and control diagrams including process flow diagrams (PFDs), instrument loop diagrams (ILDs), and Piping  and Instrument Diagram (P&ID)
  • Inspect various instrumentation and control (I&C) devices such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, control valves, converters, signal conditioners, recorders, data loggers, human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and programmable logic controllersc(PLCs)
  • Install, test, operate, calibrate and configure instrumentation and control devices
  • Inspect and utilize test equipment necessary for installing, testing, calibrating and configuring I&C devices
  • Hook-up, simulate and test various I&C devices
