Bhutan Education Leaders Visit MFI Polytechnic Institute

Pasig City, March 13, 2019- Education leaders from the Bhutan Ministry of Education (MOE) visited MFI Polytechnic Institute on March 13, 2019. Led by Karma Yeshey, the MOE Secretary, the visit is part of the delegates learning journey to acquire first-hand knowledge on policies, strategies, good practices on programs and curriculum creation, job placement, and success stories of TVET educational institutions.

Vladmir Santos, MFI’s Director for Business Development says, “We are happy to be part of Bhutan’s study tour. We are privileged to share with the education management team of Bhutan  MFI’s more than 45 years of accumulated lessons gained from its successes and failures”.

The learning session at MFI includes a presentation of best practices and insights on program sustainability, student recruitment, and establishing strong industry connection. This was followed by a robust question-and-answer and facility tour.

The Bhutan team’s study tour also includes benchmarking studies in Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. The Philippine visit is organized by the Department of Education (DEPED). The findings of the entire study tour will be presented to all the cabinet ministers of Bhutan and will feed into the establishment of seven TVET Premier Schools under ADB-funded Skills Training and Education Pathways Upgradation Project (STEPUP).
